If you are using IE, a wizard opens up when you choose import from the file menu. It leads you through the steps.

Copy them off the Zip and paste them in the Favorites or Bookmarks directory on your hard drive.

I save my Favorites on both a floppy and my Iomega zip.

i do it the way ed is suggesting. for me, it's like this

1. i insert the jaz disk in the jaz drive
2. open windows explorer
3. click the jaz drive
4. find the file i want in the right pane
5. drag and drop it into the destination folder in the left pane

Since you used the export function to save them in file form I think you'll have to use the import function to restore. From your post I get the feeling you're just not going far enough with the import. When you click on the browse button and navigate to the zip drive double-click on the bookmarks file and see if the import wizard doesn't take you to the next step.
