<<Here in Fairfax County, zoning enforcement is very zealous - so is Permits and Planning. In the contiguous communities, including Fairfax City, these agencies are much more lenient. It just depends on how you want to live.>> I got fined for not getting an occupancy permit for a satellite TV dish when I first moved here. Later a friend introduced me to the lady who ran zoning. Later when I wanted some variances to put up my barn the board approved them so quick I thought they were going to help build it. Helps to know people.
