TA, 50bps is a done deal. I don't think 25bps is even being considered. The equity markets may take a tumble on such a disappointment and that is exactly what Greenspan does not want to happen. Falling market means falling business and consumer confidence. Low consumer confidence is the enemy right now and I would not rule out 75bps as a consideration -total for the next 30 days--even though it is unlikely. We could another 25 intermeeting after this meeting, if he finds is necessary.
