Let me add about Zambia and First Quantum that FM has a 15 year contract to buy electricity at 2.6 to 2.8c US per KWH. The power is hydro and comes from dams on the Zambezi and Kafue rivers. The Kariba dam on the Zambezi was built in the late 1950s. There are no salmon in the Zambezi but plenty of crocs. If there were any salmon they would not get very far upstream.

Yes, the Republic of California carries a lot of country risk.
I certainly wouldn't invest there.
