Who was Gov in 1996 and who was in control of the state Assembly and the stae Senate? I know what Grey Davis has done but he didn't do it single handedly..........many, many Republicans were a part in it in fact there were more Republicans than Democrats that signed the bill. To think of California as a liberal state is in error......there are many. many, Republicans out here, Heck, the whole central valley creams their jeans at the thought of a gun.
