Hello Tom,
My major concern with ProFunds is a little different from yours.
It's much easier to make the comparison on the SP500 leveraged fund but I think we will see a similar result with UOPIX. Based on my SP500 indicator I made purchases of the ULPIX fund in early April. Right now the Index is very close to parity with what it was in April. My investment in the fund is down by 22%. I can find no other index fund that has that wide a discrepancy between itself and its index. I am afraid that we will have a similar experience with UOPIX. As you know I am not AIMing the SP500 index fund. It may very well be that AIM will save our bacon with the OTC fund. I believe that the reason for the large discrepancy is the high expense ratio of the ProFunds. This is causing me to do a little rethinking regarding the ProFunds. I think the high expenses become much more noticeable in a down trending market. Just my opinion.
Bernie

Hi Tom; You show your kind heart again in your final paragraph.....There need be no regret on your part in regard to my following your lead on the 2X fund..I am a big boy, and fully responsible for my actions.....but thanks for those sentiments.

I have been trying to learn from this experience, because I intend to retain the leveraged funds as part of my portfolio.....I believe it will be prudent for myself, at least, to develop a defensive plan going forward.

Based upon the experience you have had with the Idiot Wave parameters.....what measurements of those parameters do you feel would signal a warning to assume a defensive posture, perhaps involving among others:

1. Moving a portion or all to 1X funds

2. Hedging a portion with the inverse 2X fund

3. Adjusting the SAFE levels.

4. ???

Regards, Bud
