Dipy: One of your ongoing themes is the current excessive valuation of the market, and its relation to the larger historical patters. BUT my friend, if one looks at the profit growth of the S&P 500 companies over the past 30 years and the corresponding rise in the stock market, one will find that the market has gone up 13 fold, and (guess what) the profits have gone up 13 fold. This averages out to a nine percent year over year growth for the 30+ year period. Thus, I see no evidence to indicate that your view of the stockmarket is overvalued as being correct.
