Tom, thanks for the recommendations. I reread the first Six chapters in Lichello's book over the weekend after "practicing" with a spreadsheet and could swear some of that info wasn't there the first time I read it! (ha ha).

Took Bernie's advice and studied the spreadsheet and text file on your website. But,I just couldn't wait until I started to actually do some trading and then duplicate the entries onto the spreadsheet. You know how it goes when you have that "I want to learn and do this stuff now" attitude!

So I downloaded the spreadsheet, deleted all the entries and retained only the 16 column headings I could get onto legal size paper. I had to add the "action taken" column by hand. Then I entered the closing prices for the first 44 days.

The next step was the real learning as I entered all the other numbers five days at a time, then went to look at the completed spread sheets to see how I was doing. After getting through several days of selling, holding and buying, I started to see some light. I went through many days of selling before any buying was recommended which I thought was a good experience. This exercise was excellent to test your knowledge of the mechanics but I still needed more reading and thinking about the "reasons" behind the calculations.

I still need much more experience to fully appreciate and understand the "whys" behind the cash levels, split SAFEs and the Vealie tactic. Thanks to the folks on this thread and especially Mark with his insights with a few "bumps" in my thinking and understanding the Automatic Investor software, all the lights are starting to come on. No shortage of electricity in this Minnesota home!

The good news is that I'm cautiously in the game now, recovering some cash because the stock in my initial account (PRSF) is moving up. I'm really okay with the fact that I sold some on the way up. I can feel my thinking changing already.

Thanks for the help.

Jack
