It's actually worse than that- when one analyst (i can't remember which one) refused to bow to Intel's bullying phone call, Intel called First Call and told them to EXCLUDE this guy's estimates from the "official" expectations. First Call thought about it for 1 second and then agreed with Intel- the analyst's rating was excluded. There were a few news articles about it, and the guy wrote one himself where he was steaming mad, but nothing ever came of it. Well, except Intel's stock dropped 50% in the following two months.

It's all organized crime and propaganda. Once you realize that and accept it, making money in this market is like taking candy from a baby. Or rather, like taking candy from 100 million "investor" babies.
