combjelly: Now that sounds remarkably like the PowerNow! The Next Generation, or what ever they will call it.

It's my understanding that Palomino will support "enhanced PowerNow!". Is this different from the standard PowerNow! of K62+?

combjelly, I forget what the keystroke idea is called, but its much dumber than PowerNow (AMD's dynamic power reduction method). PowerNow is so good that battery life when playing a DVD movie is almost as good as the "always slow" mode. In this case, because there are NO keystrokes, the Intel technology would not be reducing power consumption at all.

I'd really like to know if its possible to run an 800 MHz Intel notebook at 800 MHz when running off batteries, and what the battery life is under those conditions. If it's not possible, I think its false advertising unless there is an * after the '800 MHz.'
