To start with, they own the globe, the biggest military and this thread, so I am not about to say anything about their educational system, except to note that they take great license with the "Queen's proper English" spelling. (g)
(The Windows spell checker lights up my prose like a neon sign, yet Websters confirms that "proper" English has been utilized).

Actually, I am on the side of the Yanks on this one too. As a former teacher, I still cringe at the stupidities we force kids to memorize with respect to a language that purports to be phonetic. George B Shaw was right!

Now with respect to those hailing from certain parts of Texas,....... while they have schools, they still talk a different language as far as I can tell. Probably an ancient dialect that simply refuses to die.
