Actually, as I'm a WOW user, I get it for free until May, at which time I will have to decide between the two. I am actually a WOW Daytrader 7 user. The WOW.com subscription feeds my Daytrader 7 program so have been fairly happy with the combination. I swing trade and day drade, as well as keep track of long term positions in my retirement account. I use three monitors for Daytrader, and a fourth for CyberX and a browser. I understand that TradeStation Pro will ultimately offer all the features of Omega 2000i or whatever it is. In addition, of course, it includes the feed with historical and real time tick data. Furthermore, it is supposed to ultimately provide real time tracking of portfolio, and executions if I open an account with their affiliated broker. It looks to me that they are trying to combine the features of their original software with the features provided by direct execution brokers like Cyber and Executioner. However, I've heard nothing yet about the nature of the direct execution - how fast or how flexible it may be. I also haven't heard just how fast the real time data is. I know FDCN (WOW's data provider) is ok usually, though occasionally slow at the open. I know this because I can compare the CyberX bid ask with the WOW bid ask screen. The truth is, the ability to put everything in one program appeals greatly to me. My concern, of course, is that those that try to do everything are not the best at anything. Still, it looks to me like what they may offer will be a CyberTrader or Executioner type program with all the additional system testing and analyses tools inherent in Tradestation 2000i suite. I also understand that they may begin phasing out the standard suite in favor of TradeStation Pro. I suppose that move could have been predicted when they bought WOW. I confess I wasn't happy about that at the time (I personally thought WOW was a wonderful program, and Daytrader 7 a remarkable step toward the future), but if TradeStation Pro can deliver, well then no complaints. Well, enough ramble. I have no specific questions, but am curious what you guys think about this move to incorporating direct execution with analysis software, and putting most of the heavy lifting on the server side. Seems like the future to me, but would like to hear other's opinions and experiences. TIA. Pierre
