Indeed I do...your point of contention was that due to the fact that Reagan had so little cash ("just" as you indicate a retirement account, the blind trust and the ranch), he could ill afford to make the downpayment of some $250-300K on the $2.5M that friends bought for him...my point is and continues to be that Reagan, like all ex-Presidents, had never been know for hurting for cash and the deal he cut with the Japanese to the tune of $2M for a single speaking engagement (whether it was before, during or after his time in office) speaks volumes in support of that fact....end of point.
