Thanks -- I was thinking too narrowly about it -- thinking that one wanted the stock to go up enough for most of the premium to dissolve

MB, RE: selling covered calls.
I didn't see you selling covered calls on stocks that have big run ups, like BR, INCY. You prefer to sell the stock. I think after some big runs calls can be very expensive and you could capture that premium.
