What I am driving at is this -- the only "safe" way out of this unholy mess is via high levels of inflation, wherein the hefty loans (personal loans and corporate loans) of today are repaid in inflated dollars in the coming years.

For that to happen, though, the Fed has to get off its inflation-fighting horse. Because if they try too hard there, they might end up causing deflation, i.e. depression.
