I used to stay at a hotel about a block away from Carnegie Hall. Merely on the 15th floor of the hotel, the view of the midtown skyscrapers was stunning. I would guess that from the 56th floor of the high rise, in either direction, park or midtown, the view is extravagantly beautiful......

Dear Charleymane: IF THAT ISNT OUTRAGEOUS then I dont know what is. This HICK from Arkansas doesnt even have the decency to go back home and then to THINK that he is ENTITLED to rent the most expensive real estate in the USA in a state far from his home is BEYOND THE PALE. I certainly hope the last Vestiges of Clinton supporters NOW UNDERSTAND how he USED AND ABUSED US. If the taxpayers dont RISE UP on this one then they deserve to have their taxes RAISED NOT LOWERED. jdn

Has ANYONE wondered WHY an office in NYC (UN maybe?--now THERE is a scary thought!!!)...He lives in another town...two of them in fact...one in NY and one in DC....and home in AK....Who is going to pay for all the trips back and forth, plus the secret service assigned to him in a high rent district, and all the other things associated..... Maybe we ALL had better stop and ask more questions....

Perhaps Clinton should do as the rest of the country does, when one wants more than is budgeted/estimated....EARN IT!!! The Supreme ARROGANCE OF THE man....

Just look what his spokesman said> ...

Clinton initially requested just $57,000 for office rent for July to September this year, based on an estimated annual cost of $228,000.

But he decided he likes the swanky Carnegie Hall Tower's 56th floor, with an annual rent of between $665,000 and $700,000.

Asked where the rest of the money would come from, Clinton spokesman Jake Siewert said that's up to Uncle Sam.

"It's just going to have to come out of other parts of the budget," he said.

"They'll have to squeeze out the additional cost of that rent."
