Histogram would be better with high and low bands.

Your discussion of 'speed' gave me some ideas, let's see where they go....

Speed is the measurement of distance over time, so if we compare the current EMA of price to a previous EMA we can calculate the magnitude and direction of 'speed', in a crude (average) sense at least.

(If we calculate the change in speed, we can come up with acceleration but that is probably another whole can of worms.)

I have drawn up some charts of speed based on a 20ema5, tenlights.com As you can see the speed of the NQ has been negative (duh) over the past few days and is traveling between 0 and -4 points per 5 min.

I also took the same concept and applied it to +DI and -DI, tenlights.com I am not as sure how to interpret these results because of all the spikes - on both the +DI and the -DI.

Ideas?
