Hi Geof,

Interesting, but IN- and SS7- intense. Certainly doable, and I believe already being done through discreet command sets that some carriers permit. The issue that I see with this is making it affordable, since every "dip" into the database has historically resulted in a charge of a few cents (or much more for certain types of lookups). IN/AIN has for a long time been the "extra" dime that carriers have sought for CLASS type features, such as call forwarding, last calling party number, etc.

If the dual routing capability such as that which is described in the release becomes a standard offering at no extra cost, I see it as something that would be difficult for some carriers (especially the ILECs and dominant wireless carriers) to swallow. Of course, during times of intense competition they just may have to do something like this in order keep their sub count from going to the upstart that tries it first. Thanks for the release.
