This weekend is the annual Fairfax City Chocolate Festival. I caved. It's for a good cause, anyway. -g- Vendors set up tables in the old City Hall and sell goodies in exchange for pogs - you buy pogs from the Festival staff - $1 a pog. I bought 30 pogs for me and the two boys - we pigged out on chocolate and still have 11 pogs left over, and we carried stuff home. Best treat of the day, IMO, chocolate peanut butter pie from Red, Hot and Blue Barbecue - I can give the recipe but I can't tell you how to make it. There's a chocolate crust, I think it's made like a graham cracker crust but from finely crumbled chocolate wafers, then baked. Then a layer of chocolate ganache is spread on the inside bottom of the crust, maybe 1/4 thick. Then the crust is filled with peanut butter ice cream. Chopped peanuts are spread over the ice cream, and Hershey syrup is drizzled over the top in an aesthetically pleasing manner. I wonder how long it will take to go back into ketosis?
