TGPTNDR Re...I found it interesting that Scumbria, the conservationist, admitted to $300/month(Off the top of my head) heating for 1KF^^2 house -- 'cause he was just renting & it didn't much make sense to fix it or rent someplace else. And it clearly doesn't make sense to the landlord to fix the house so long as DOPES will rent it for the same price without insulation.<<<<<<<< Say it isn't so. Tell the truth Scumbria. You just want everyone else to conserve so you can keep on wasting without paying through the nose. Typical Californian trying to sponge off of everyone else. If Californians really believed in conservation, they would have raised the rates, and forced everyone to conserve energy. Well here is a flash for Scumbria. You can't sponge off of the shareholders anymore because CALPINE and PG&E are broke. You can't sponge off of the rest of the west anymore, because GW isn't going to force the rest of the Western states to subsidize your rates anymore, and most of the outside power producers think your credit stink.. And six months from now when your electricity bills have doubled, and your state is consumed by rolling blackouts; we will see how gung ho all of the people in Cal. are for conservation only then. I would bet that Cal. then will be leading the charge for drilling in Alaska; anything but increased drilling offshore. Hey, why make a sacrifice when you can force others to get their hands dirty, while keeping your own clean. I lost two major trees & have three more really sick ones 'cause of that sillyness. It turns out you can water your lawn as long as it doesn't need it. I had heard of the rationing on the news. It is unfortunate you got caught up in it, but I don't think you can blame Whiteman for doing what she had to do to conserve water. You also must have sandy or rocky soil which doesn't hold water well, because trees with their deep roots can survive longer than most plants. We'll hear about the CA. energy problem for another couple of weeks, then nothing 'till July. Then, Imo, It's going to come out of the woodwork for real.** The high prices should abate until next winter, because the peak season for natural gas usage is winter. However, unless Cal. starts paying for the energy, rolling blackouts could last all year.

I've ~ 4 acres in central NJ. Deep well puts water about 6' down(damn near artesian). $6,500 pump gives me over 2,000 GPH @ 50 PSI. I put it in to keep the property looking OK. Summer before last the FUZZ got me for watering the lawn out of my own well 'cause the Governor(Ms. Whitman -- now of EPA) had declared a water emergency. I lost two major trees & have three more really sick ones 'cause of that sillyness. It turns out you can water your lawn as long as it doesn't need it. TGPTNDR, Why do you think the "FUZZ" got you when you got the water from your own wells? ted
