That's interesting. I don't use GTC orders, but my impression was that when used with AIM they were placed back-to-back. IMO that would defeat the periodic update feature of AIM which allows it to track the longer term trends in a stock and not get thrashed by day-to-day movements. By waiting till the next week to place an order you preserve the periodic update.

There's more to this "simple" AIM machine than is evident at first. I'm learning all the time.
