Scumbria, is it your view that above 1.X GHz, the Athlon will start running out of steam NOT because of insufficient memory bandwidth, but because of memory latency?

If so, is the only short term solution bigger cache sizes?

How will Sledgehammer solve the memory latency bottleneck?

Amen...and Dirk Meyer just got a huge promotion at AMD...probably portends a few more ideas in the incubator about to be hatched as Athy is just phase one...also probably portends 5 years of "obsessive" profitability at AMD unless INTC comes up with something a little more competitive than what we've seen from P3 and P4 over the past 12 months...
