Tom,

<< When Sprint goes to 1X ... with MSM3100 which is IS95B compatible, and could do 64 kbps, then will such a phone do 64 kbps with 1X or does one need a 5105 MSM to get improvement from 14 kbps? >>

My impression is that neither Sprint PCS, or Verizon, will support IS-95B and whatever chip is in the phone will be immaterial. Phones with MSM3000, MSM3100, or MSM3300, will provide 14.4 kbps circuit switched voice and data only even after 1x is implemented. Could be wrong, but that is my impression.
