He would be the man!

I think IS-95B has to be specifically implemented and supported by the networks to get to packet switched data at 64 kbps ... on an IS-95B capable phone ... which is most CDMA phones out there right now.

Only the Korean networks and KDDI migrated to B, and the US carriers specifically opted to buypass the step.

I think "Bucks" article assumes that the carrier would have migrated from A to B before C, and the carrier continues to support A & B.

As I say. I could be wrong.

Hopefully it has enough of a market to get us to 90 million handsets this year. <g>

Thats what's in the stores right now. It is one of the reason QCOM has warned of a lower ASP on handsets this FH, which is an industry concern beyond CDMA.

That's whats in my phone, and I didn't buy it on the premise I could use it at 64 kbps when 1x was implemented.

From a selfish Q shareholder point of view ... I hope I'm right. Higher ASP replacementt sales is the game, in a somewhat saturated market.
