Tom, It's really in operator's hand as for when they want to upgrade the networks and the features. Having the capability in place is one thing, to have it turned on is another thing. It really depends on the profit model the operators is using. If they think data service can make big bucks then they will do it and you should be able to use your phone for higher speed. All you need to do is to upgrade the software from the store. So when will verizon start 1x rollout? Next year?
