One never knows. QCOM went up today. But some say QCOM is living on borrowed time as well. Guess I prefer buying stocks that have just gone down. Too cheap to buy them going up. Good luck with your investments. May we all be right more than 50% of the time.

Re: $125MM credit from FCC

Someone asked on this or the Moderated thread about how the credit will be accounted for. I asked QCOM-IR (see end) and got back the following answer.

"We expect to exchange the $125M FCC voucher for a note with Leap Wireless; however, this process has not yet been completed. We have not recognized any revenue associated with the voucher, and we don't anticipate that we will recognize revenue this fiscal year. Therefore, the answer to questions 2, 3 and 4 below is no. There is a paragraph in the 10-Q that discusses the senior secured credit facility with Leap Wireless on page 19."

Best Regards,
Julie Cunningham

My e-mail to Julie:

Dear Julie,

A few of us on the SI QCOM thread have a number of questions about the $125 million credit QCOM received in their settlement with the FCC:

1. How was this settlement accounted for?
2. Specifically, was it recorded as taxable income?
3. If it was not, was it recorded in income anywhere?
4. Is it in the EPS numbers?

Thanks in advance for your time.
