Upon closer review you appeared to have not been accusing me of duplicity but more of being aware of what I was saying. On that point I stand corrected. Your comments were more charitable read 2-3 times over. That is a maneuver, though perhaps an unconscious one. In your normal mind-state, Doug, you know the difference you deny what is obvious to you in all other situations you encounter. Again: You make the mistake, or strategic choice, of equating the statements "life begins at conception" and "a human being exists at conception." Actually, I was sure I had indicated that I didn't know the degree to which you were consciously aware of the strategy of the "pro-life" movement. As for this I am not a member of any group or movement in regards to this issue. If I were to be involved in anything related to it, it would be in helping find homes for kids their parents did not want. There are many. So any ambiguity in my use of words flows from my ignorance of the precise process by which egg and sperm collide and a human life results. I can't think of a better word to decribe what eventually flows from that process. I'm not trying to cloak anything into anything. To illustrate I'll use perhaps a silly example. If a woman were to find out she were pregnant and on the same day her boyfriend or hubby or whatever, were to slip some of this RU-486 into her system via food or drink and the baby was lost as a result, I would consider that murder. By the same token, when my wife announced she was pregnant with the first of our eventual 2, I considered myself a father. I did'nt wait till some stage had been passed. My point I guess is that at some point in the process, and I'd have to study closer to see where I believe that is, these components combine and cease being separate components and become what I call human life. I realize that view makes some uncomfortable but I have not tried to push it on anyone, anywhere. I wholeheartedly reject the notion that I hold such views out of some hidden agenda. You are of course free to disagree. In any event, I wish you no ill will and appreciate your civility with me. D.H.
