Jim,

What you don't seem to understand is that people won't make changes that degrade the quality of their lives. It is foolish to try.

How much gas and time is wasted because of asynchronous traffic lights? Fixing the traffic lights in big cities would produce a large gas savings, and make people's lives better.

There are many other similar solutions. Telecommuting, fast trains, etc...

Are you Catholic by any chance? You seem to believe that redemption must be painful.

Of course there are other solutions, sell your SUVs, burn coal or firewood and stop burning jet fuel.
You'll have a hard time getting people to realize they are part of the problem...

Why is always black or white? Of course, that's why people opt for drilling in the ANWAR.......alternative is made to look so grim.
