They tell me Cheney is extremely right wing. He's an oil and gas man so he will be hard
on the environment.

Conservation should be encouraged and so should solar energy.

We had a former Senator from WA who reminds me of Cheney. He wanted to blow away half of
a mountain top to provide 20 people with jobs for the rest of their lives. The environmental
impact would have been horrible since a toxic chemical would have been exposed. Don't recall
what it was, but the idea was so bad that even The New York Times published or at
least mentioned that his idea was a terrible one.

Fortunately, he wasn't re-elected, but it was a close race. Maria Cantwell won the race.
She's a democrat, but I don't know very much about her. I was NOT impressed with her campaign
ads, but I never heard her speak.

I skipped the Presidential debates. At the time, I wasn't keen on either candidate although I thought
that Gore would do a better job because of his experience. Now, I believe that he would have done
a better job. We wouldn't be stuck with people like Ashcroft, Norton, Christine White, and "W"
main view of the world, C. Rice, the political science professor..
