on the last two shutdowns I received my "fatal exception" error (back to haunt me)!

Using the Shutz program, have you tried rebooting first and then shutting down?
And why bother is not the correct answer.<G>

as you know, these things never go away, and sometimes only get worse. fatal exception errors probably aren't the best thing for your pc's health, either.

have you really gone through all the steps at this site?
