Yes. That, by the way, is the going rate in this area - NYC. In addition, at least when I checked into it, there was no need for "another" ISP either so there was the additional saving of $20 - 22 a month there.

It depends. The technology permits this, but your DSL provider must be an RBOC or a CLEC (or have an arrangement with the local RBOC) in order to offer the service. And they must have your line configured for both voice and data - and I'm not sure even that all of those that can, actually do.

VZ, as both an RBOC and DSL provider, probably supports this (I'm not in their area so I don't know for sure). Where I live, the RBOC doesn't offer it and the DSL providers aren't CLECs (an in any case they keep going bankrupt lol). So for me it's an extra line.

Yes. They operate on different frequencies, as best I understand it. So if you have a second number primarily for the computer (I do), you can drop it....further lowering the price.
