Take a look at the chart (bottom right of this message).

Now let us know what you think?

Is anybody on this board long DELL
I bailed out of much of my positions, but I am still long about 5000 shares. Short term the whole of Nasdaq will trend lower. It is not clear whether the federal government will be buying or selling bonds over the next few years and until it is clear the market goes lower.
IMHO.

techtfh:

I made a bundle off DELL between 1996 and 1999, but I cut back to a nominal position in 1999 and got out entirely in the middle of last year when the stock started falling apart.

Now my view is back to where it was back in 1996, best exemplified by the thread header:

<i...... At its current level it seems pretty cheap. If it was not for the rest of the industry coming out with negative news I think that the stock price would be higher. From what I gather, in the second half of this year this stock should take off. I have a position in this stock already and I'm thinking of strengthening my position in anticipation of a good second half of the year.

I have a small position taken at around $20 in early January, if it trades over $30 short term I'll sell, but I think the recovery in the computer business will be slow this year, and if momentum stays away I'll add to the position as things get clearer. At a P/E of around 25 and a growth rate around 20-25% (min), the stock should move up from here. PC's aren't going away as many seem to think, and DELL remains the most efficient manufacturer of PC's and will continue to gain market share. Wide scale adoption of broadband will drive the next major upgrade cycle as new applications driven by broadband demand more horsepower, and broadband adoption is just beginning to get to the critical mass phase.

JMO.
