David,

Great post, but without a news event IDX will trade at or below 7 in the next three weeks. Seems like Mr. Market is going to play with our nerves again.

Rob

David -- many thanks for your outstanding, insightful post (just what the doctor ordered on a crappy, crappy friday in the market).

David,

You wrote, <<It is unlikely that there will be a total failure of the potential biometric market, but the size of the market is in great doubt.>>

That came across to me as rather pessimistic. Can you expand on that statement? What about the Motorola officer who said biometrics opened up 'huge' opportunities? What about Bill Gates who said something like, 'biometrics was the next big thing in computing'? (sorry, I don't remember what he really said so please don't quote me - but you know what I mean.)

As for me, I still think the opportunities are 'huge'. Just look at the response to the school lunch story. It's made the rounds of many newspapers and other publications. I still think the uses of biometrics is limited only by our imagination. Or are you saying it will be many years before biometrics takes off?

I wait for you reply.

Rick

BTW, it was good to hear from you - you have been quiet lately. I hope all is well.

Nice post(s). Two nitpicks, which in no way attempt to diminish the quality or truth of your messages, this just being my M.O. and all:

"Those of us who make and keep investments based on stock price movements are either complaining or out of the stock. But those of us who make investments on the fundamentals of a company have to be pretty satisfied."

1) You didn't account for those complainers who invest based on company fundamentals. I'm personally offended.

and

2) Did you know that Acer is big in South America? One of the top five. Bigger than Dell.

EDIT:

Two Mendels for you. Because if the truth doesn't hurt, it ain't worth printing.
