Immunity to force or power is included in my sense of what rights are

That is so easy to disprove. Tell me a right that you believe has immunity to force or power! Lordy, for someone that believes "rights" are mere agreements, subject to change by the quirks of power--I fail to follow your concept of immunity. :)

Tell that to the Hell's Angels President that has a patchover with a rival gang, kills the ring leaders and tells the survivors: "your rights, priviledges, duties, responsibilities, and job descriptions have just changed".

I don't smoke; But I could demonstate that your "right" to a clean environment has no immunity from my force or power. I can squish your "rights" personally, or with a cheque to the President. Your choice. But I would much prefer a waltz.
