since they dont use re-processed steal.

LOL! Are they (Japs) stealing or steeling our iron? Remember WWII. -g-

While no fan of their cars, unlike MB, a remelt is no problem if you get the metalurgy right. Yeah, it is a pain to pull tests but it works out OK if you do it right. I say this based on exposure to castings for train parts. Pick any significant component of an individual rail car and they can tell you its whole life down to the minute it was cast and what the composition was. And it usually starts out as a scrap heat. You do have to control the process, though.

mm, Audis are ALWAYS in the shop. All of my friends curse theirs daily. At first I hated the looks of that new roundish Audi coupe, but now I think of it as the rebirth of the Kharman Ghia and kind of like its looks. I think Mercedes are ugly, except for the Roadster and the SLK, which are snazzy numbers. Good cars, though. Volvos? I'm middle aged, not dead. <g> BMWs are also ugly except for the Z3s.

I should worry about the steel in a Japanese car after years of riding motor cycles? Now that is when you have to worry about an accident.
