WHY?? Because I've studied history and given the matter a lot of thought over the years and decided that's the kind of society I want to live in. I think it makes the most sense. It's rational and logical and pleasant and supports those things in us that make us human. You explained it well in your initial post to me after your hiatus. Jorj also in his post about individuality and autonomy. I couldn't have said that better. That's why. The point of my question of "why" to all your "CLAIMS" was to move you to examine the rational logic that preceded both your CLAIM, and the potential "agreement". I wanted you to recognize that before you CLAIM and before you convince others not to kill you--that you had engaged in an internal appeal to reason. I can only assume that that is/was the basis of your CLAIMS. If so, we no longer disagree. RIGHTS are based on REASON. "Rights" are based on ideas. My RIGHTS don't need any agreement. Your "rights" do.
