There is a growing amount of evidence that the administration is obtaining cooperation from institutional investment firms to stop investing in technology issues as a way of causing a market panic

I, for one, would appreciate a link to some evidence for such a damning statement...

Art - I tend to agree that this market is being "engineered" to meet a definite purpose -- bring about the tax cut. I think we have further to go on the downside as things will have to get "bone-chilling scarey" before Congress caves in to the cut.

Wow, and I thought I was paranoid! The new administration has been in office <4 weeks and they already have the major brokerage houses doing their bidding.......they really know how to move fast.......a first for politicians! Any other conspiracies we should know about? Don't take my remarks too seriously, Art, but maybe its time to get into oil, tobacco, and drug companies. :^)
Regards,

Knip

I hope for the country that you are wrong. Such an act by the administration would be "collusion", a major felony, I believe, a little more severe, that misleading a judge and the public on personal sexual misconduct, for which we went through two years plus of commotions and even impeachment hearings and indictment.

<There is a growing amount of evidence that the administration is obtaining cooperation from institutional investment firms to stop investing in technology issues as a way of causing a market panic and a faster reaction by Congress to the administration's tax cut proposals.>

There is none now, and will never be any evidence to support this claim. The administration would never trust anyone as crooked as brokerage houses :) with their already shaky presidency.

That said, I'm sure the ML's of the world are well aware that a slowing economy may mean beaucoup dollars in the form of tax cuts.

<edit> just read the rest of the thread. boy, you opened a can of worms on that one.

I agree Art.

Here in Texas, we had our coldest winter since 1976. I'm quite sure that Bush engineered this suspiciously timed weather to swing the moderate votes to the Republican side under the obvious assumption that Bush, as Governor, had successfully, and regionally, solved the global warming threat.

Stay vigilant.

This thread is almost as useful as the AMD thread.

Art, that is one of the most preposterous market-related claims I have ever heard. Do you seriously believe that if some institutions were deliberately selling technology shares for less than their "real" value that there would not be other institutions snapping up those "cheap" shares just as quickly? If so, I have some undervalued dot-com shares to sell you ....

Yeah right Art,

George W. Bush is conspiring to take down your investment in Sandisk. Get real Art.
