excardog,
During a power outage ran my 6KW generator for 28 hours. Not enough to power the whole house with everything turned on, but pretty much everything in normal use but electric dryer. Calculated it would cost 450 a month to power home that way instead of 85/mo avg on the grid.

I'm sure their larger diesel generators are more efficient, but even so its got to be expensive. Paying the piper for infrastructure decay. Hey I thought the net was going to free us from increasing energy use, remember that drivel being spued on some threads during the energy bear market??

BTW, reviewed some favorite weather sites, tending to think colder weather will last into March, best guess to March 8th. Am handicapped by shutdown of some of my sites I use to track some more remote areas forecasts, which is going to slow up my confidence rating for that call, as I'm out of time to surf this weekend looking for replacement sites.

I guess its collateral damage from some dot bomb blowup or Cisco's revenge or something.

Best Regards,

Roebear
