Jim: Some never learn. Mhz does sell.

Maybe AMD should remake the Duron to run at 50% faster frequencies than the Athlon. Stretch out all the pipeline segments and wind up with a real performance of about the same as the old Duron.

"Some never learn. Mhz does sell."

Ok, I was over-optimistic, there always will be those who feel that the faster, the better. But that factor does not to be as big as it has been in the past. Other than with the most pro-Intel reviewers, the P4 can't seem to garner much enthusiasm, and usually gets scorn. And those reviews do have an effect, if not directly on the eventually purchaser, then on the person the purchaser asks for advice, and the advice factor seems to be getting stronger than the brand these days...
