In my younger days I used to go to the State Fair every year. One year we took my '57 Buick and slept in it for 2 nights. Not much sleep as we stayed in the park where all the Hell's Angels stayed and they party hearty. Nice people, they shared their beer even though we were 18 and got us tickets to the motorcycle race. It was a national event until gang clashes stopped it in '70.

About ten years ago I went by invitation of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. They were doing a retriever demonstration and wanted me to do some retriever stuff with my chessie. About 500 people were watching and I kept waiting for Bud to have one of his brain farts and do something really stupid but he did his two water retrieves perfect.

What I find interesting is the little tracked tractors that were used in the 20's and 30's for plowing and pulling wagons. I keep looking for the blade. A local guy who does line stringing for the power company has on not restored that he uses to pull the line from the reels.
