Things we have to look forward to before the end of Q1:

* Athlon 1.3 Tbird. Perhaps Athlon 1.33 Tbird.
* 900-1000 Mhz mobile Athlon (Palomino core).
* 760 MP dual processor chip set announcement (probably during the Intel developer forum).
* Via KT266 based motherboards.

It will be very interesting to see who announces their 1 Ghz mobile processors first. I'm sure AMD is burning the midnight oil.

Via is our friend. They have done a remarkable job with the KT133A. KT266 should shine. I suspect that a 1.33 Ghz Athlon on a KT266 motherboard will beat the 1.7 Ghz P4 in the majority of standard benchmarks on April 15th. Dual processor Foster systems slipping to Q3 is great news for AMD and should help them get their foot in the door in the server space with dual 1.53 Ghz Athlon systems.

After seeing Intel's new confidential roadmap, I like the way AMD's stacks up. I don't see AMD losing the performance crown anytime soon.
