Paul, I agree Intel should be able to have a higher market cap because they invented DRAM. I only use Intel DRAMs in my machines, because I know they invented it and therefore they do it the best!! Where did you get the $35 Billion number from? /Barjo

I am perfectly aware of the provenance of the ARMs. DEC did license the basic architecture, but they made a bunch of changes to get it to run at 200MHz when most of the other ARMs were down at 20MHz. Intel wound up with the StrongArm by accident when they bought the Hudson fab, it appears as if they had no idea what to do with it for a long while, product that was running when the fab changed hands was either delayed for a long while (SA1100 and 1110) or never was released (SA1500). XScale has an awful lot of the original StrongArm design, but Intel admittedly had to make a lot of changes to the design to produce it anywhere other than the Hudson fab, so you are correct. Umm, I don't believe I ever said anything about Intel not ever inventing thing, I don't remember mentioning EPROMs or DRAM at all. Did you confuse my post with something else?
