They said to spray contact cleaner. I don't think that stuff is water soluble, it would have to be to dissolve, sugar, cream, coke, etc..

In most cases you are better off ordering a new board and have a service department install it.

A new board for my Compaq Armada Notebook was a little over 100 bucks installed.
