Cool. "Abortion is like slavery" has been floating around a lot lately, but "pro-choice people are Nazis" seems relatively fresh.

I don't see where Greg posted "pro-choice people are like Nazis". What he did post about Nazi's is that if morality is decided purely by consensus then what the Nazi's did was ok because a lot of people in Nazi Germany supported it. I'm not sure I agree with him on this because I am not so sure that there was a consensus among Germans that death camps and such were ok, but then I would not define my morality or my vision of human rights by whatever the current consensus is. He has a point if there actually was a consensus in favor of the death camps but I don't think there was.

Hi Win.
I did not say and do not think that people who support abortion on demand are Nazis. I was responding directly to X's assertion that there is no ultimate source of morality, and that the morality we do have is determined by mere consensus. I did cite the Nazi's as an example of the implications, and consequences of this type of reasoning, however, I didn't say X was a Nazi, I merely asked if she would acquiesce to that method of determining morality if it came down to it. I suspect, even expect, that she would not. But if not, why not? Given that there is no ultimate morality. Do you think it's possible that X knows that there is indeed an ultimate source of morality, that certain things are truly, just wrong. Of course that would have implications that are unpalatable, like maybe there is a God, and maybe we are responsible to Him. Perhaps it's easier to just subscribe to a philosophy of life that is both illogical and unlivable, rather than to acknowledge the obvious.

So anyway, what do you think? Are unborn children human beings? Are they worthy of protection from death? Or do just think death is cool.

Greg
