Actually, the black fork doesn't seem valid either. I think the angle of the black pitchfork could be made much steeper. E.g. the mid-line could be drawn with the first point being where it is and and the second point being the last high. That midline in fact would contain the high in the middle. Also the lower line paraller to it would start where it is now and go through the recent low. I prefer that black fork. Now in case of the red fork, the movement just doesn't seem like it is providing any resistance or support except at the points shown. That doesn't seem like enough data to me to justify the fork. Just imho.
