Why didn't You do this by PM, I consider it REALLY vindictive or insensitive at the least to post it in a public forum. Anyone trading full time has had at least one horrendous trade, been there and done that.

I feel for Joe. Hope he was not on margin on that trade. Why does it always happen to the good guys.

Bottom-picking beats the hell out of top-picking.
I take some flak but here's the bottom-picking method.
You look at your daily watch list and look for red.
Is it red enough? has it been red for enough days in a row? Was it a stock you lusted for when it was 50% higher? if so, you investigate and if your gut tells you to move you buy. Or at last put in a low bid order. Or follow it for awhile then put in a bid. What the hell is wrong with that?
It's called bargain-hunting.

LU at 14 3/4 is a buy to me and I don't care how many bashers are all over it on bad news today. That is why it is selling so cheap. Duh. Will I make a profit? Definitely if I hold until the right time. If I panic and sell too soon then I lose. Does anyone really believe LU will never exceed $15 again? Anyone? Okay. So is bottom-picking stupid? Of course not. But when you pick a "bottom" just before a bigger fall then you really feel like a doofus. But guess what? Most falls turn into rebounds. So to anyone you got killed on Emulex I'd advise holding until he gets at last 50% back then moving on. It took me four months to get my UIS money back but I did.

Disclaimer: I don't follow Emulux and know little about it. But I did have an order in for EMC today at 51 which went unfilled. I will try again tomorrow if it dips anymore. If not the bottom it's probably damn close. My cousin bought a house in Italy on EMC gains. I'll take ten percent of that. gg
