download the Outlook patch.

Jim, Amy, I believe this patch has been available for sometime at ms.

Clic tools (in MSIE), clic Windows Update, and microsoft.com will determine if you have it on your machine and then give you intstructions to download (free) if you don't.

Jim already did...
I learned a lot about viruses.
A also learned that the KAK virus does alot more damage than listed on McAffees descripton page.

You guessed it, the e-mail viris screener was not enabled on this computer. That's how it slipped through.
