Leaving aside the obvious levity, the "Christian Nation" crowd seems to be plenty influential with W so far, by all appearances. How influential, exactly, I guess sort of depends on how seriously you take what the handlers had Ashcroft say at his confirmation hearings, versus his previous record in introducing constitutional amendments and such.

Then there's the James Watt protege at Interior. There may not be another generation, you know.
