I just made my 1st batch of chick pea soup and it came out awesome.
I eat a lot of black beans, pinto beans and chick peas and I always make
them fresh, I hate the canned crap. About a 1/3 of the time I make black
or pinto beans i save the water the beans cooked in and make soup.
today was the first time Ii did it with the chick pea water. To about 4
cups of water I blended in 2 cups of chick peas then simmered it with
2 potoes, 2 carrots, 1 stalk of celery and 4 med scallions. I seasoned
it with a little salt, a little black pepper, a little cumin, a little majoram
and some curry. I can not believe how good it is! Dinner is bound to
be a let down, there's no topping this soup. I didn't check any recipes
first. I always like to try things off the top of my head first then if it
doesn't work I'll check out recipes.
