It's a cyclical. PEs low at the peak earnings (6 months back) and high at the bottom. These companies know how to navigate slowdowns and come out stronger. Yeah, it may trade at half what it is today. And the forward looking statements are grim.

The k winter is the only thing that will seriously derail AMAT for investors with a 5 year horizon.

Ok, the last 50 went at $46. Maybe I re-enter around $40 after options expiraton. <g> Profits were slim, but risks are much higher now than they were before the feds surprise rate cut. Greenspan seems to be taking the punch bowl away.
